Description

The goal of the Master in Oceanography is to train highly-qualified graduates in Oceanography, capable of contributing to the development of scientific and applied research for a better use and conservation of marine ecosystems and their resources. This program aspires to establish itself and become recognized at the national and Latin American level as a program of excellence in the education of graduates specializing in Oceanography.

Objectives

1. To train specialists in Oceanography, in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geology, qualified to integrate and apply their knowledge to research and technical cooperation projects, and to provide consultancy for public and private agencies. 2. To improve, update and create professional competencies in the field of Oceanography. 3. To develop competencies for conducting scientific and applied research in the different areas of Oceanography.

Candidate Profile

Applicants to the program must have an academic degree in the fields of Basic Sciences, Earth Sciences or Engineering, with a level equivalent to an academic program of at least 8 semesters. Applicants will be selected by an Academic Committee including professors from both institutions, based on the documents submitted. Professionals from academic fields other than those mentioned above may also be considered, prior approval by the Committee.
