Description

The Master in Food Technology is part of the multidisciplinary activities of Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) in the field of Food Science and Technology, through its different Schools. These research, development and innovation activities are expressed in lines of research directed by the program’s regular professors, who are part of the faculty at the Department of Chemical Engineering, the Center for the Study of Food Science and Technology (CECTA), the Department of Biology, and the Department of Food Science and Technology.

Objectives

The main objective of this program is to train human resources with a strong, specialized background in matters related to Food Technology, capable of participating creatively and effectively in both teaching and research, as well as advanced professional performance, according to our country’s needs.

Candidate Profile

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, in areas related to Food Science, Technology and Engineering, or an equivalent professional degree. In certain cases, applicants who don’t meet these requirements may be admitted to the program, after a one- or two-semester leveling program, depending on their previous training.
