Description

The focus of the Program in Environmental Management and Arrangement (PROGOA) is technological and multidisciplinary. Therefore, this program may be pursued by professionals from different areas: civil engineers, execution engineers, agricultural engineers, forestry engineers, architects, physicians, biologists, physicists, geographers, chemists and others.

Objectives

"To provide professionals with previous training in the area of Territorial Engineering and Planning with a supplementary high-level specialization in the field of Environmental Management and Techniques, with an integrated approach to current socio-economic activities.
Specific objectives:
To contribute to the creation and development of environmental protection and control at the local, regional or national level, using territorial arrangement instruments.
To train students in the presentation and management of the environmental problems of industries and service companies with State agencies responsible for environmental control within the country.
To train students in the knowledge and use of scientific theories and methods for understanding the nature and representation of natural and anthropic systems through analysis, modeling, simulation and synthesis.
To provide techniques for identifying, defining and formulating interdisciplinary problems in terms of concepts.
To train students in producing creative solutions to interdisciplinary problems through the design and use of state-of-the-art technologies (use of informatics and teledetection tools) to support environmental protection.
To promote the ability to use professional knowledge to implement, manage, monitor and evaluate environmental projects."
