Description

This program was created in 1995, as a professional graduate degree through which participants may acquire knowledge and develop skills for improving governmental capacities. In the modern democratic State, professionals and executives must combine different competencies to design innovative solutions to the problems of a rapidly changing society, through public policies and programs that serve citizens and the competencies necessary to implement these programs. This graduate degree provides tools for analyzing data, designing effective solutions, and evaluating the results of public services with the criteria of pertinence and appropriateness (according to their objectives), efficiency and equity, and the management of development.

Objectives

The main goal is for participants to acquire and/or renew their knowledge and develop skills and attitudes in the field of public policies and organizational leadership, so that they may help improve governmental capacities. They must contribute to the creation of innovative solutions that are pertinent to the current problems of society. Participants must expand their methodological knowledge and professional competencies in terms of the design of public policies and programs, reasoned reflection regarding their objectives, and analysis of their economic, social and environmental context, as well as in management, leadership and the evaluation of the implementation of these policies and programs.

Candidate Profile

Applicants must have a professional or Bachelor’s degree in any field that involves professional development in the State apparatus.
