Description

Universidad Católica del Norte’s Department of Construction Management, with the support of the Chilean Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®), offers this graduate program that aims to develop the skills of those responsible for supervising and managing the complexity of current projects. It primary purpose is to develop competencies related to the administration and management of nine areas of knowledge: integration, scope, time, cost, procurement, risk, quality, human resources and communications, complemented with other topics that are relevant for the discipline. Students who fulfill all PMI® requirements will be in a position to take the certification exam to become Project Management Professionals (PMPs), after paying the corresponding fee.

Objectives

The general objective of the Master in Comprehensive Project Management (MEGIP) is to provide graduate-level specialization in the decision-making process throughout the entire life cycle of a project, in order to model and rationalize the complex problems related to project management. MEGIP graduates will be capable of comprehensively leading and managing projects, achieving its pre-established goals (integration, scope, economic and financial, time, quality, risk, communications, human capital, procurement and environmental) while also fulfilling those present throughout the entire life cycle of the project, contributing to the organization’s strategic success.

Candidate Profile

The Master in Comprehensive Project Management (MEGIP) is oriented to: individuals with a Bachelor’s or professional degree in fields related to Architecture, Construction and Engineering (4, 5 or 6 years of study in any discipline), with proven experience of at least one year in project management, and who need to develop competencies and contribute to the industry or organization in the discipline of Project Management and Administration. It is designed for those with degrees in Construction Engineering from Universidad Católica del Norte who wish to obtain a Master’s degree according to the current curriculum (Plan N) and have earned their degree in the last three years.
