Description

This is a joint program offered by Universidad de Valparaíso (UV) and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV). This program is offered by the UV School of Ocean and Natural Resources Science, and the PUCV School of Ocean Sciences. Applicants enter the program as regular students of one of the participating institutions. The application, selection, admission and graduation procedures are governed by the rules of the students’ respective university.

Objectives

"To train specialists in Oceanography, in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geology, qualified to integrate and apply their knowledge in research and technical cooperation projects, as well as acting as consultants for both public and private organizations.
To improve, update and form professional competencies in the areas of Oceanography.
To develop competencies for scientific and applied research in the different areas of Oceanography."

Candidate Profile

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s or professional degree in the field of Basic Science, Earth Science or Engineering, with a level equivalent to an 8-semester degree.
