Description

The Master in Economic Analysis (MAE) is oriented towards professionals in the fields of Social Sciences, Engineering and disciplines with training in Mathematics, who are interested in a high-level academic degree in Economic Analysis. This program has an agreement with the University of Groningen (Holland) and addresses the issues and challenges faced by emerging economies from an applied perspective, allowing for the development of a successful professional career in both the public and private sectors. It is taught by high-level specialists, PhDs from the best international universities with relevant professional experience in the public sector and international organizations such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the United Nations.

Objectives

The main objective of the Master in Economic Analysis is to train economic specialists with an excellent technical level and ability to analyze policies, both in the public and private sectors. This Master’s program also provides the necessary academic tools to train high-level consultants for economic policy decisions. Graduates from Universidad de Chile’s Master in Economic Analysis will be capable of advising multilateral and regional organizations, the national governments of developed countries, and private institutions in the international finance sector, regarding issues of international cooperation. The World Bank has qualified this program as “preferred university,” a title that allows students to apply for scholarships granted by this organization.

Candidate Profile

Applicants with an undergraduate degree granted by Universidad de Chile must submit a copy of their academic or professional degree. Foreign applicants must submit their original degree certificate authorized by the Chilean Consulate in their country. f. Undergraduate transcript and ranking certificate. g. Document certifying their English language level. h. Curriculum Vitae. i. The EXADEP test will be compulsory for students from foreign universities and Chilean students from universities other than Universidad de Chile. The EXADEP test will be taken in Chile at Universidad de Chile’s School of Economics and Business, prior registration at postgrados@econ.uchile.cl.
