Description

This program’s mission is to train high-level professionals to develop research in Surgery and related disciplines, providing them with tools to work in their discipline, as well as in the academic field, the production of new knowledge, and the solution of problems. The combination of a strong scientific training, applied research and contact with real problems in the discipline, ensure that this program can have a significant impact on all aspects of academia, directly benefiting the institutions that hire human resources trained in this program. This is why it is defined as a scientific program.

Objectives

"To improve knowledge in the different areas of Surgery and related disciplines, enabling students to conduct research and teach at the university level.
To train students in the proposal and development of scientific and technological research projects, applying an comprehensive approach to the planning, execution and direction of high-quality research in the different disciplines of Surgery.
To promote the development of surgical disciplines through research process oriented towards the production of theoretical and methodological innovations.
To promote professional development with a sense of values, critical vision, creativity and innovation, developing an ethical and responsible stance towards scientific knowledge.
Develop program activities that generate constant scientific activity, including the participation of students and professors in order to strengthen critical mass at the national level."

Candidate Profile

"Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Dentistry, or another discipline related to Health Care, and must have earned this degree in a national or foreign higher education institution recognized by the Ministry of Education.
To apply to the program, applicants must submit:
Application Request addressed to the Program Director, including a Statement of Purpose.
Detailed and updated CV.
Transcripts.
A copy of publications (if any).
Letters of reference written by two academics, one of which must be part of the faculty of the university from which the applicant received his or her professional degree.
Birth certificate.
Sponsorship or authorization by the institution to which the applicant is affiliated, if applicable."
