Link to magísterThe Master of Arts in Heritage is a graduate program oriented towards training researchers in the area of Cultural Heritage in all its dimensions. Its curriculum takes into account the local, regional, national and international context of its area of study. This context is defined by the âlocalâ and the âglobal,â given that the region shows an activation of projects and programs regarding the development of its heritage, thus creating the need for specialized training to produce knowledge and develop cultural alternatives in this field. This program is sponsored by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), affiliated to UNESCO, whose primary mission is to identify and monitor the sites included on the World Heritage List.
To train advanced human capital capable of contributing to the production of knowledge in the field of Cultural Heritage, considering local, regional and national scenarios. To develop lines of research, considering Art History as the main discipline, that are new in the region and the country, in order to create a critical mass capable of transferring knowledge on Heritage to all levels of the Chilean educational system. To understand and apply the theoretical and practical principles of the recognition of the value of the heritage system in its tangible and intangible expressions. To identify and understand the need to recognize the value of local, regional and national cultural heritage by promoting pertinent behavior and attitudes that favor their preservation and transfer.
