Description

The Master in Literature seeks to explore the field of changes in the characteristics of current Literature, in order to provide the necessary guidance in the study and comprehension of the literary object as an important component of human culture. To this end, we analyze the literary production of Spanish American, Spanish, English and North American fiction writers, poets and playwrights, using current perspectives and theories characterized by their multidisciplinary nature. Late-twentieth century cultural studies and critiques privileged multiplicity as a determining factor in the analysis of cultural production, whatever its origin. This program aims to develop competencies for literary studies, taking into account the development of communications and its relevance in the context of modernity and its transformations. In this sense, the Master’s program seeks to apply diverse approaches to persevere in the literary enterprise by doing research and analysis of literary creations.

Objectives

To update the knowledge regarding the diverse approaches to the literary object on the basis of a revaluation of traditional theories and an introduction to modern and contemporary theories. To prepare students for literary research at the university level.
