Description

Through a joint university-industry effort, this program seeks to provide graduate university training by putting students in contact with the most up-to-date technological developments in this field, while providing an experience of knowledge production in an area of Extractive Metallurgy, with research or technological development groups in an industrial environment.

Objectives

The objective of the Master in Extractive Metallurgy is to train human resources capable of contributing to Chile’s technological, professional and economic development at the highest level in the field of Extractive Metallurgy, with a broad, profound knowledge of the scientific and technological foundations of this field, and with the ability to design, analyze and evaluate advance metallurgic processes, while formulating, executing and directing applied research and technological development projects.

Candidate Profile

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences (with an emphasis in Mining and Extractive Metallurgy), granted by Universidad de Chile, or an equivalent degree, granted by this or another university, that guarantees previous training consistent with the goals and requirements of the program. Applicants with training in other areas may be admitted through an academic leveling program.
