Link to magísterThe Master of Science in Geology is an advanced interdisciplinary program of studies in Geological Sciences, which includes the development of an individual graduate thesis. It aims to train graduates with advanced knowledge in the field of Geology, capable of creatively working in both university teaching and the development of scientific and applied research. Our graduates are known for: (i) their ability to conduct specific research in both basic and applied science, (ii) their application of state-of-the-art knowledge and methodologies to the solution of geological problems, (iii) their contribution to our countryâs knowledge and development.
To train graduates capable of creatively working in research and professional activities. An essential aspect of the program is the development of a thesis that must constitute an original contribution, applying methodologies or producing scientific knowledge in order to solve a specific problem in the field of Geological Sciences.
Applicants must have a Bachelorâs degree in Science, with an emphasis in Geology, granted by Universidad de Chile or another university, or an equivalent degree that guarantees previous training consistent with the goals and requirements of the program. Average GPA of 5.0 or higher (on the Chilean scale of 1-7). They must also have a research topic and be part of a project.
