The Master of Social Science in Sociology of Modernization is a program oriented towards the development of research skills and high-level professional performance in the field of Sociology, specifically in the areas of economic, social and cultural transformations, with a special emphasis in Chile and Latin America.

Objectives

To provide up-to-date, profound knowledge, including the use of sociological theories and methods to conduct research in topics within this discipline. To train students in the development of skills such as the observation and discussion of reality, the production of knowledge about this reality, and the design of recommendations and proposals to improve its comprehension. To train students in the use and application of research in the analysis and assessment of public policies, community actions and interventions.

Candidate Profile

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology or similar disciplines in Social Sciences, the Humanities, Education, Economic Science, Communication Science, Legal Sciences, or Political Science.
