Description

The Master of Engineering Sciences, with an emphasis in Water Resources and the Environment, of the Division of Water Resources and the Environment within the Department of Civil Engineering, is oriented towards the analysis and management of systems of water resources, hydrology, fundamental and fluvial hydraulics, transport processes in surface and subsurface water, and aquatic environmental systems analysis.

Objectives

To train specialists with an analytic and conceptual knowledge of the area of Water Resources and the Environment, capable of solving advanced methodological problems, actively participating in research groups, and conducting technological transfer with a truly critical spirit. Graduates of this program will be specialists qualified to work in institutions that regulate, execute and supervise environmental policies; in the public and private sectors in the areas of water use and environmental impact evaluation; in research related to water resources and academic activities.

Candidate Profile

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences, or an equivalent. In addition, they must be accepted by the Program Committee. The selection criteria include academic performance in previous university programs and two letters of recommendation by distinguished academics or professionals.
