Description

This Master in Physics is divided into two variations: Theoretical Physics and Experimental Physics. This program requires full-time dedication and a physical presence for academic activities. A few potential lines of research are: Mathematical Physics, Plasma Physics, Non-Linear Physics, Quantum Optics, High-Energy Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Plasma Physics (experimental) and Surface Physics (experimental).

Objectives

The fundamental goal of this program is to train graduates with an advanced knowledge of Physics. This will allow them to continue their studies through a PhD, working on highly specialized projects in Physics and/or teaching at the university level. Student who earn this degree have completed advanced studies, achieving a high level of knowledge in Physics, and even conducting significant research. They may participate in a group of researchers, and have a profound understanding of an issue on the frontier of knowledge in Physics.

Candidate Profile

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Physics or its equivalent. This degree corresponds approximately to 5 years of university studies in Mathematics and Physics. An average grade of 5.0 or higher (on the Chilean scale of 1-7) is required in Physics and Mathematics courses.
