Description

The professional orientation of the Master in Mining includes basic and advance courses in subjects related to mining, both in its properly scientific and technological aspects and those related to economics and management. Coursework is complemented by a thesis, which is an individual project focusing on critical analysis and the proposal of solutions to a new or existing problem.

Objectives

This program contributes to the training of high-level engineers and geologists, qualified to conduct or manage scientific and technological research, work as consultants for organizations, companies and private, state or international institutions, or to teach in higher education institutions; working as a team with experts of other disciplines related to Mining.

Candidate Profile

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences (with an emphasis in Mining and Extractive Metallurgy), granted by Universidad de Chile, or an equivalent degree, granted by this or another university, that guarantees previous training consistent with the goals and requirements of the program. Applicants with training in other areas may be admitted through an academic leveling program.
