Description

This program aims to expand and generate graduate-level knowledge to intervene in complex social systems, proposing innovative ways to design, execute and evaluate social interventions. It also seeks to train researchers in the field of social research and develop their competencies for social interventions in the new scenario of current relationships between the State, the market and civil society, emphasizing ethical discernment in the context of new social situations. This intends to respond to some of the social challenges in Chile and Latin America, proposing innovative solutions to specific issues, especially referring to the field of public policies and social programs.

Objectives

To critically analyze the main contemporary social debates. To analyze new conceptual proposals in Social Work, establishing connections with contemporary social debates and considering innovation in processes of social intervention. To generate proposals that connect public policies to the field of Social Work. To develop applied research in the diverse fields of professional intervention, both in traditional and emerging issues. To develop management and innovation processes in the social sphere, modernizing professionals practices and shaping new fields and forms of intervention.

Candidate Profile

The Master’s degree in Social Work is designed for professionals and individuals with Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work. It is also open to those with a Bachelor’s or professional degree in a related discipline.
