Description

The Master in Law, LLM-UC, is a professional and flexible program, with a duration of three to six semesters, designed for lawyers and other professionals in the private and public sectors, who are interested in updating or continuing their general legal studies (Master in Law without a specialization) or specializing in a specific area (Master in Law with a specialization). Currently, the program offers the following emphases: Constitutional Law, Business Law, Tax Law and Regulatory Law.

Objectives

The general goal of the Master in Law, LLM-UC, is to provide students with intellectual and methodological instruments that qualify them to become general legal specialists or specialists in a particular area of the law. Thus, students will obtain advanced legal knowledge and skills that they may use in their professional activities.

Candidate Profile

Individuals interested in applying to this Master’s program must submit: A Bachelor’s degree granted by a Chilean or foreign university, or an equivalent professional degree. If this degree was granted by a foreign university, it must be duly legalized. A transcript with the courses passed and failed during Bachelor’s or equivalent studies. A certificate of class rank for their Bachelor’s or equivalent studies. If the respective university does not provide this information, a certificate must be presented to accredit this situation. At least two letters of recommendation describing the personal and academic capacities of the applicant and his/her professional performance, if applicable. Personal statement of no more than two pages, regarding the applicant’s motivation for applying to the program.
